About Us
The concept of WakeUpLand.com was created in early 2001 while I was a college student
attending the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, FL. After having a hard
time waking up in the morning for class, I spent some time looking around online for a
wake up call service to use. I realized that there weren’t any wake up services
available at the time. This was the moment that the “lightbulb” went off and WakeUpLand
was born.
Sensing that there was an opportunity, I worked out a partnership with a phone-only
based wake up service. I would take the orders through WakeUpLand.com and call them in
to his phone system, manually adding each call. This process lasted for a very
exhausting couple months. Many times I would have to remain awake at all hours of the
night to make sure that calls were added, often having to place the wake up calls myself
if their system wasn't working correctly.
Luckily, around the time I was ready to run for the hills and give up, I ended up meeting
Chris Casale. Chris was a friend of a friend who happened to be a Computer Science major at
UCF. After a few talks about what could be done to streamline the ordering process, we
decided to convert WakeUpLand into a fully automated system. We broke away from the phone
based calling system and setup a state of the art outbound calling server to place the calls
for us.
Since then, we've setup one of the most advanced online wake up call systems in the world!
You, our valued customers, have the ability to add, modify, and delete your calls through
your own personal control panel - 24 hours a day 7 days a week. With the additional of our
reminder call service and optional wake up call enhancements, including daily weather reports
and top news stories, WakeUpLand.com has revolutionized the wake up call industry. The new
system is far more advanced and reliable than I could have ever dreamed possible. With new
features being released constantly and many more in the works, WakeUpLand customers will have
more options than ever before.
