The atlantic Time Zone observes standard time by subtracting four
hours from UTC during standard time (UTC-4) and three hours during daylight saving
time (UTC-3). The clock time in this zone is based on the mean solar time of the
60th degree meridian west of the Greenwich Observatory.
The zone is one hour ahead of the
Eastern Time Zone, two hours ahead
of the Central Time Zone, three hours
ahead of the Mountain Time Zone and
four hours ahead of the Pacific Time Zone.
